This policy explains how The Garage uses cookies and similar browser storage on thegarage.to and app.thegarage.to.

Essential browser storage

We store your cookie choice in your browser under garage-cookie-consent. This is necessary to remember whether you accepted or declined optional analytics. The authenticated app may also use local browser storage for sign-in, security and an optional offline mode. These functions do not depend on analytics consent.

Optional analytics cookies

If you select “Accept analytics”, we initialise Google Analytics through Firebase Analytics. Google may then set cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id>. They distinguish browsers and sessions so we can understand page visits, feature use and broad engagement. We do not use advertising cookies or sell analytics data.

Google Analytics is not loaded before you consent. Interactions that happen before consent are dropped, not stored for later transmission. If you decline, the website and app remain available.

Optional diagnostic replay

The authenticated app uses Sentry for essential error reporting without analytics consent. If you accept optional cookies, Sentry may also record a replay when an error occurs so we can reproduce the fault. The app masks all page text and blocks all images and other media before replay data is sent. Replay does not run when consent is declined.

How long cookies last

• Your consent choice remains until you change it or clear browser storage.
• Google Analytics cookies normally expire after up to two years, but may be refreshed when you return.

Change or withdraw consent

Use the “Cookie settings” button shown on this website, or the cookie controls in the app, to accept or decline analytics at any time. Withdrawing consent stops analytics on subsequent page loads. You can also clear cookies and site data using your browser settings.
